There are now a range of open stage / open mic. events in Kent, in
a number of venues on different days of the week.
New musicians are very welcome. CJ now runs quite a number of them - get her to sing herself - no longer just a drummer, she has developed a lovely voice.

CJ writes :
Hello, I am CJ - a Singer Songwriter, musician, workshop leader and
organiser of open stages!! At present, I am running two very successful
nights but we always welcome new acts, whether you are a beginner or
professional, any genre, any age (over 16!).
I have been running open stages for over 20 years and still find it so
rewarding when I see people gaining confidence in performing, from coming to
these events. Many bands and friendships have also been formed as a
result of these open mic nights, which is equally rewarding.
A full PA is provided (8 channels), along with 4 mics, guitars, a keyboard,
Djembe, Cajon and CD/MP3 opportunities for backing tracks. However, if
you prefer to play un-plugged, that is also fine.
The evenings start at 8pm and finish at 11pm and acts get a minimum of 3
songs. We have musicians available on the night to accompany any acts for
example, guitarists, pianists, sax, percussionists, etc.
So, I hope to see you on the LAST THURSDAY of every month, at The Imperial
Hotel, Wincheap, Canterbury, and the LAST SUNDAY of every month, at The
Unicorn, Bekesbourne (nr Canterbury).
