January 2002

16000th hit on KenFolk during January, now in it's new home on Canterbury-Kent. Lots of new things ready over Christmas, but work has stopped me uploading before, so I will put up what I have ready, and do the rest later.

The Canterbury-Kent developments are coming on well, with most groups and musicians now in the data-base, venues still to do. We have the ability to sell CDs and individual MP3 music tracks, and hope to have the time to get that on KentFolk soon.

News on the Three Horseshoes, now closed for some months - there is a Burns Night (Jan 25th) dinner with Piper, as a farewell event. I hear it will be re-opening as a pub soon.

Much thanks to Amanda Peters this month, who has been digging me out events for the calendar, and lots of news items.

News from Andy Reshaw and Camine - note their Burns Night gig.
Andy has sent me an excellent 3 tracks of Camine playing
and singing live at the Mick Jagger Centre in Dartford last year - I have put them up on the KentFolk MP3 music section, with his permission.
If this is a taste of what the new Camine CD will be like when it is out, we are in for a treat.

Greetings

A happy new year to you and wishing you everything for 2002.
Blow away the chill of winter with merry times, and maybe even the odd tune or two. A big thanks for all your support during 2001 - we had some great gigs. So, on to 2002.
Here are a few dates to drive the blues away.

Casey's in Canterbury on Thursday 10th of Jan.
White Horse at Bridge on Friday the 25th of Jan.
Two great venues.

Longstone will be playing at the Admiral Owen in Sandwhich on Sunday 13th of Jan. - a great candlelight pub.

A morsel of good news hot off the press - the new wholefood shop (which has a great upstair cafe/music venue) in Canterbury, is to play host to the folk and blues open stage, certainly you will be in for some hot local stuff. Opening night will be Sunday 17th Feb. and then every sunday there after. A great night's music for a mere £1.00 - if you play it's free. There is also a bar !!!

Well, any further goings on, we'll let you know.
Meanwhile, cheer-bye from all at Camine towers.

With Tim Edey's permission I have put 5 tracks of his latest album "Daybreak" on the KentFolk MP3 music section.

Our fiddler Laura Targett was back from Australia over Christmas, and Tim recorded Laura, Tim and Lucy Randall on location on a boat in Ramsgate harour. Tim has lent me a pre-release demo CD, and I have put five excellent tracks up on the KentFolk MP3 music section.
