March 2003

Things looking up - very successful January and February, just so very hectic. Things working again - well almost, have had a delay of a week in uploading this due to web-site access problems again - but a real backlog of items that need my attention but have had to wait.

Brilliant Monkey-Puzzle - Camine Gig on Feb. 9th, I have been sent photos which I will upload.
See the report from Andy below.

Do send me gigs, I hope to now have a better chance of getting them up.

The associated web-page Canterbury-Kent.co.uk - will probably fold soon - no one has been bothering to use it, Greg and I are the main ones uploading gig information - that was not the point of creating it - it was meant as a service for musicians to enter their gigs on the interactive calendar, without waiting for me to have the time.

Tim Edey is presenting Bright Fire: The Celtic Dance Show at Broadstairs Pavillion on March 17th, and again at Chatham Brook Theatre on March 20th (for St. Patrick's week).
Superb Celtic music, and Irish dancers in a feast of lively music and dance - please do support Tim in this venture, musicians of this calibre are rare.

March has come around with mighty speed, oil yer knees, St. Patricks in the air. But firstly, a great night was had by all at the Steiner Theatre on the 9th of Feb. (Camine & Monkey Puzzle). The gig was a great success, Monkey Puzzle were on fine form.
What made the night for R&Z was the great audience - cheers. Check out the web site for some photos of Ramona and Zinta doing their stuff. The evening was recorded, including the grand final - the two band playing together.
Over St. Pat^Òs weekend the twins will be doing a couple of dates, a grand bash at the Victoria Cross in Lords Wood and a concert at the Whitstable Labour club.
Katie Bradley has an album coming out later this year, of mostly her own cracking material, Ramona and Zinta will be guesting on said album doing a host of things, one to look out for.

Subject: Beat the Jeep return

In a rare break with tradition Beat the Jeep will be strutting their dated (probably retro classic by now!) stuff at:
The Happy Frenchman in Folkestone on Saturday, March 22nd.
I will be making the trip down from the frozen north especially for the occasion, and have even practised some of the songs.
Hope you can make it down for a look and listen.
