An Atlantic Bridge to UK Festivals

A unique collaboration between The Association of Festival Organisers (AFO) and Atlantic Canadian Music Industry Associations (ACMIA)

A unique collaboration between The Association of Festival Organisers (AFO) and Atlantic Canadian Music Industry Associations (ACMIA) will see over 20 artists and events industry professionals from Canada join 200 UK delegates at this year?s AFO Conference in Nottingham.

Taking place in Eastwood Hall, Nottinghamshire on 16-18 November this annual gathering of industry professional has long been a leader in the events industry. Now for the first time it opens its doors to an international partner as it welcomes this special delegation.

Joe Heap, General Manager of the AFO said ?We have a great history of collaborations and partnerships, with the likes of The Musicians Union, Arts Council England and many others but this represents such an exciting opportunity to see some world class artists from Canada and network with arts professionals from a completely different background?

It is also the first time that the AFO has allowed foreign artists to showcase on this type of organised level. The partnership between the Atlantic Canadian MIA's and the AFO has been in negotiations for months and was finalised in August.

8 Canadian bands will perform over the weekend across 2 showcases, with a special reception for delegates on Saturday night where authentic Canadian East Coast cuisine will be served by their own chef.

The AFO Conference, now in its 25th year is one of the biggest gatherings of events professionals in the country and is dedicated to the festival industry. The agenda will offer presentations, debates, panels and one to ones on all manner of industry topics from Wet Weather Insurance to Media Buying, Health & Safety Passports to Riders and Artist Hospitality.

The Conference is sponsored by EFDSS, fRoots, Proper Music Distribution, LaPlaya Insurance Services, AVLS Production and Ticket South all of whom not only make financial contributions but bring their respective professional experience to the conference delegates.

The Showcases on Friday and Saturday nights are open to the public and are completely FREE. Conference Sessions are open to booked delegates only.
