Tenterden Folk Club has moved!

 

Following the sudden and unexpected closure of the Woolpack Hotel the folk club has moved to The William Caxton.

 

We thank Debbie and Marcus, who only took over the pub in December 2010, for offing us the use of the room that was formerly the restaurant and separate from the main bars.  There is NO large screen TV or jukebox to compete with!  The folk club will continue to be held on the second Tuesday of every month so I look forward to seeing a good crowd of folk singers, musicians and entertainers on Tuesday (8th February). 

 

The William Caxton is situated at the west end of Tenterden High Street and offers a warm welcome and a fine range of Shepherd Neame ales.  The charming, traditional pub is perfect for the folk club.  The Grade II listed building, named after the 15th century merchant who introduced the printing press to England and was reputedly born in Tenterden, benefits from a log burning fire and beams, all adding to the image of a traditional English pub.  A range of Shepherd Neame ales and a good selection of wine complement the welcoming atmosphere.  There is also a walled garden at the rear, ideal for the summer months, and the pub has some parking at the front, on street parking near by with several town centre car parks just a short way away.  There are also plans to reopen three rooms for bed and breakfast.
