Subject: CLOUDSTREET AT FOLK AT
THE DRUM (FATD) - 17 MAY 12: DUNGENESS RNLI CONCERT 19 MAY 12
Good
Afternoon All,
IF
YOU GET MORE THAN ONE COPY OF THIS E-MAIL PLEASE ACCEPT MY APOLOGIES AND JUST
DELETE THE EXTRAS - OUTLOOK EXPRESS IS PLAYING UP AT PRESENT! THIS IS NOT
A VIRUS OR MALWARE PROBLEM.
I
just wanted to bring your attention to the fact that we have the wonderful "Cloudstreet"
with us at FATD next Thursday - 17 May. If memory serves this will be
their third time at FATD and they also came to us when we were at The
White Hart. If you are not familiar with them, look at their website and
you will be amazed at their versatility musically and vocally. This link
will take you to their "Listen and Watch" page but it is worth
looking at their blog as well
Since
Dannie and I first met them at Broadstairs in, I think, 2003 they have expanded
their following enormously in Australia, UK and New Zealand and they have
appeared in other countries as well. They are undoudtedly the biggest act
that we get at The Drum but they are folkies just like the rest of us and
lovely people too.
There
are floor spots left if anyone would like to bid for them but please do so
quickly.
If
you are planning to come please let me know as I am expecting a large turnout,
that includes members and regulars who will have priority of course. An
idea of numbers will allow me to ensure that as many people as possible get a
seat.
FATD
REGULARS DAVID & GILLIAN AND MAUREEN WILL BE JOINED BY KERRY & MANDY,
BRIAN WITHSTANDLEY, TOM KELLY AND LAST, BUT BY NO MEANS LEAST, PAUL SIRMAN IN
CONCERT AT THE DUNGENESS LIFEBOAT STATION ON SATURDAY 19 MAY 12 STARTING AT
1930 IN AID OF THE RNLI.
We
had an amazingly successful concert there on 4 Jun last year and
raised a lot of money, the highest total for Dungeness RNLI last year I
believe, and we performed the same concert at Tenterden Folk Festival in
October 2011. If you would like to see what we did, please follow this
link:
From
the third entry down, where you will see my ugly mug, there are 27 songs that
we did. Tickets this year are at the same low price of ?3.50
With
very few exceptions there will be completely different songs this year. In
order to keep an eye on numbers, we were a little overwhelmed last year and
started a little late, tickets need to be pre-booked, no money need change
hands at this stage, tickets will be placed in envelopes with your name on them
and paid for on the night. In order to reserve your tickets please
ring the Lifeboat Station shop on 01797-329108, you can ring at any time and
leave a message, please speak slowly and clearly, your tickets will then be
waiting for you on arrival at the concert.
Best
regards
David
