Musically Monstrous Productions present a stunning weekend of Old Time music
in Oxfordshire:
Bayou Seco on Saturday 19th May - traditional music from Louisiana, New
Mexico, Arizona and beyond
Foghorn Stringband on Sunday 20th May - Ass Kickin' Redneck Stringband Music
Two very different shows but both highlighting great musicianship and an
absorption of musical genre and style to give us very powerful performances
which communicate to us the culture and traditions of the people and
communities whose lives brought those musical genres into being.
As usual, the concerts will be in the barn at The Three Horseshoes in
Towersey.
Tickets will be £8 for each show but we will be offering a small discount for
those who come to both. £7 for each show if you buy both on the Saturday
night.
As usual you can reserve tickets through WeGotTickets or by emailing Mark

For some years, Neil White (ex-Old Time News editor) has been hosting mainly
Old Time concerts at his local, the Crabshell in Kingsbridge, South Devon.
Now, thanks to the generosity of his previous guests, he has been able to
release a cd sampler.
So, titled simply 'The Crabshell COncerts 2005-2012' it features an hour of
music from the tradition, donated by each of the acts that have featured in
the 29 concert series. They are some of the most admired and respected players
from both sides of the Atlantic who, amongst them, have sold out the Albert
Hall; achieved championship honours; broken audience records; starred on TV,
film and radio and won accolades galore. Superb performers at the top of their
powers, everyone one has earned worldwide acclaim.
The cd is on sale from the Crabshell Inn or from Crabshell Records, 2 Clipper
Quay, Embankment Road, Kingsbridge, TQ7 1SJ at £10 in person or £12 with p&p
(£14.50 abroad), sterling cheques payable to Crabshell Records.
Any profits from the sales are entirely dedicated to promoting live,
professional music of the tradition in and around Kingsbridge.
Featuring tracks from the Orpheus Supertones; Jeff Davis with Brian Peters;
Bayou Seco; Ira Bernstein and Riley Baugus; The Carrivick Sisters; Jeff
Warner; Beverly Smith and Carl Jones; the Albemarle Ramblers; Simon Mayor and
Hilary James; Debby McClatchy; Phil Beer; Julie Felix; Pete Coe; Kate
Lissauer; Sid Kipper; Sara Grey; Tom, Brad and Alice

To All Killington Campers
Saturday 14th July is Woody Guthrie's 100th birthday. Also, as many of you
know, our venerable host Joe Fearnhead, is a big Woody fan. To celebrate, we
thought that it would be nice to have a Woody Guthrie singaround early on
Saturday evening around our traditional Killington barbecue time. Please bring
along your favorite Woody song for a good old hootenannie.
It might be useful if you could send Hugh Connor your song name in advance, so
that he can make sure that we don't have 17 versions of "This Land is Your
Land" !
