Jacqui McShee?s Pentangle
Thursday
22 March 7.45pm
Gulbenkian Theatre, Canterbury
Pioneers of Folk
Jacqui McShee and
The Pentangle are legendary names. Don?t miss them at the Gulbenkian on Thursday 22
March at 7.45pm.
The original group expanded the frontiers of folk in the 1960s and
'70s. Since then, the band's evolving styles and various line-ups have
continued to make ground breaking music. One thing has remained constant,
however ? Jacqui McShee's unique voice is always to the fore.
Jacqui is currently backed by Gerry Conway on drums and
percussion, Spencer Cozens on keyboards, Alan Thompson on bass, and Gary Foote
on saxophone and flute.
"Glorious
stuff, deeply atmospheric and immaculately sung and played. The current line-up
of Pentangle kicks up an absolute storm and Jacqui's voice is gorgeous." Tom
Robinson, BBC 6 Music
