Just to remind you that there are only a few weeks left before we take or
summer break and to thank you for your terrific support following our new year
move to the Olde Rose and Crown.
The next two Sundays will follow our normal pattern with doors opening around
7.30 at the Olde Rose and Crown.
This Sunday 12 June our guest is Talis Kimberley - Wiltshire
based Talis is an enchanting singer-songwriter. Her powerful and moving songs
feature a mixture of mythology, green issues and everyday life approached from
unexpected angles among other things.
This is a rare chance to catch her in London.
Then on 19 June we feature John Cocking and Will Noble -
Singers of songs local to the West Yorkshire area, many together also some solo items interspersed with comic monologues old and new from John
Providing an evening of laughter and song ,so bring your singing voice and your sense of humour!
We finish the season with our now tradition Futureproof on 26 June
- This year we'll be doing things a bit differently - an afternoon gig in
Stoneydown Park in Pretoria Avenue close to Blackhorse Road tube and just up
the road from the Rose & Crown. Click here for a map.
Note this is a change from the originally announced location of Lloyds Parks
which will be closed for renovation over the summer.
We'll be running from 2pm to 6pm and admission will be free.
There will be Real Ale, Stalls, games and fun stuff for the kids to do.
We will be featuring 3 up and coming artists:
David Shevelew - Dave is a tremendous guitarist and song writer and well known as a resident at the club. He's definitelyone to watch and we thought we'd better grab him whilst we can still afford him!
Anna Skodbow - As well as being a rising star of the fashion world Anna is an enchanting singer and harpist who can tackle modern songs and traditional airs with equal skill and charisma.
Louise Jordan - Louise has an incredible ability to empathise, singing
traditional folk songs as if they were her own. She brings a fresh
interpretation to the timeless themes of love, loss and longing.

We will be closed for the months of July and August whilst you all go off and enjoy the many weekend festivals, as we will. Don't forget the 2nd Tuesday of the month music sessions at the Nags Head continue in June (next Tuesday 14th) and July (but not August) and we will advise you of any special summer events that may be arranged.
