Sunday April 10th
José González and the Gothenburg String Theory
Singer-songwriter and one of Sweden's biggest-selling musical exports, José González will perform with 20-piece orchestral collective, The Gothenburg String Theory. Unifying José's beautifully introspective songwriting and expressive performance with a multi-media music project like no other, this incredible collaboration explores new and exciting terrain.

José González emerged out of nowhere with his debut album Veneer in 2003. Since then he has taken the music business by storm, first gaining recognition with the song Crosses, which featured on the US hit show The OC. His popularity soared upon the release of his sensational reworking of The Knife's Heartbeats in 2006 and the song has remained a fixture in the fabric of popular culture.

José González 's warming voice comprises the focal point of his music, surrounded by his subtle, yet virtuoso guitar playing. The song In Every Direction from his band Junip's recent album was picked by Rolling Stone magazine as #41 on their list of 50 Best Songs of 2010, saying 'Pale-voiced Swede Jose Gonzalez kicks up the volume for a supremely pretty folk swirl.'

One of Sweden's most visionary art-music collectives, The Gothenburg String Theory provided the musical score for some of Director Win Wenders' movie projects and has been involved in numerous collaborations.

Tuesday May 10th
Loudon Wainwright III + Lucy Wainwright Roche
A rare opportunity to see one of America's greatest folk singers Loudon Wainwright III in a special a solo show at the De La Warr Pavilion.

Father to Rufus, Martha and Lucy and husband to the late Kate McGarrigle, Loudon Wainwright is the lynchpin of the Wainwright dynasty. His recording career spans a total of 23 albums, including 2009’s Grammy-winning High Wide & Handsome and recent topical release, 10 Songs For the New Depression. Loudon's forthcoming career-spanning box set 40 Odd Years is co-produced by Loudon fan and producer of Knocked Up and Superbad, Judd Apatow.

Friday June 17th
Ladysmith Black Mambazo + Muntu Valdo

Assembled in the early 1960s, the group have been performing for over 40 years. The group's intention has always been “To bring this gospel of loving one another all over the world” and their philosophy is as much about musical heritage as it is about entertainment.
