Loads and loads coming up for you all!
Announcing the second edition of WILD SINGING over May bank
holiday, 27th - 30th May 2011 Featuring Shirley Collins. Singing round the camp
fire, in the woods, from the top of the hills and in the big, round yurts.
Safari Britain is in a beautiful private valley that sleeps groups of up to 27
people in yurts and bell tents.
The weekend will include; songs, rounds, gorgeous harmony
and a look at the repertoire of southern British folk songs and focus on your
solos and duets as well as exploring the Downs, learning about foraging and
even indulging in a bit of wild swimming plus, for one night only, a visit from
special guest Shirley Collins, presenting her tales of song collecting and

In time honoured, subversive folk fashion this bank holiday
weekend sees the Magpies Nest brandish our joyous seasonal anarchy at 2 of
London's leading entities. We start by hosting the Abbey Tavern all day and night
as part of The Camden Crawl on Sunday 1st May then hot-footing it over to The
Old Queens Head to take over the entire pub showcasing the hottest emerging
talent from the UK folk scene on Monday 2nd May. If you can keep up, follow

Also Announcing free events in June: The Nest will proudly
be hosting a stage at the Open City Documentary Film Festival in support of the
film 'Way of The Morris' on the 18th June 2pm onwards and on the 19th June we
will be hosting the London heat of 'Traveller's Got Talent' the extraordinary
national competition of the finest Gypsy and Traveller singers and performers
at The Front Room, Southbank Centre, more details to follow.
