The News from Nowhere Club invites you to their next meeting

Saturday 8th January 2011

A History of the Last 30 Years in Song :  Speaker/performer: Stanley Accrington

History is usually written by academics using the best available source material & records, & deals with the principal events of the time in question & related trends in society. Asleep already? Memory works differently - all who were alive at the time may recall JFK being shot or Man walking on the Moon, but we all have our individual ways of remembering events that may or may not have had some bearing on our lives. Stanley is a compulsive song writer who often uses current events of the time as the subject matter for his weird collection of compositions & performs these songs all over England & occasionally beyond. For the NfN, he will collect together some of these items to provide a quirky personal history of modern times. Be prepared to have your sublim's sublimated & your recall recalled. He also has a nifty line in commemorative anagrams   7.30pm Buffet 8pm Talk
