Kathryn Tickell Band
The most widely
acknowledged icon of Northumbrian music joins forces with some of the UK’s most
talented young musicians to present a band full of excitement and
vitality. Kathryn is the foremost exponent of the Northumbrian pipes,
playing with Sting, The Chieftains, The Penguin Café Orchestra, Evelyn
Glennie, Andy Sheppard and many others as well as releasing 14 of her own
albums. She learned in the traditional way from old shepherd musicians in
outlying hill farms in Northumberland. The concert features Kathryn’s own
compositions, some from Peter Tickell, and as always the traditional tunes of
Northumberland and the Borders are well represented. The Kathryn Tickell Band’s
compelling performances have justifiably earned worldwide acclaim.

Price Set

name Alan Price immediately summons up some of the most memorable sounds in the
last 40 years: from the Animals’ House
Of The Rising Sun to his quirky take on Randy Newman’s Simon Smith And His Amazing Dancing
Bear to his many hits with Georgie Fame, including the most famous
Rosetta. His induction into the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame in 1994 was
testimony to his achievements throughout his career in the music industry and
sits well alongside his BAFTA award for the soundtrack of the highly acclaimed
film O Lucky Man!
in which he also appeared as ‘himself’. Around the World he is readily
acknowledged as one of the most talented and enduring musical artists to have

Steeleye Span
Pioneers of folk-rock, Steeleye Span changed the face of folk
music forever, taking it from small clubs into the world of gold discs and
international tours. Members have come and gone over the years, with past and
present lineups virtually a who’s who of the British folk scene, but Steeleye
has always remained and institution, at the forefront of the genre they helped
define. Steeleye Span 2011 finds Maddy Prior – the voice of Steeleye for
36 years back at the helm of a line-up featuring band stalwart and fiddler
extraordinaire Peter Knight, Rick Kemp on bass, Peter Zorn on guitar and Liam
Genockey on the drum stool.

With
such classic hits as Sweets
For My Sweet, Needles and Pins, Don’t Throw Your Love Away and When You Walk In The Room, The
Searchers have contributed enormously in establishing the UK as the
world’s leading nation in the music industry. No doubt the decade that gave us
The Beatles, The Searchers and many others, was unique and pervades all
cultural and age barriers today. The Searchers continue touring the globe
as much today as they have done throughout a fantastic career now remarkably
spanning 5 decades. They have devised a ‘special’ solo concert, which will
appeal to all ages. It is a highly entertaining concert which has been
