KATE LISSAUER

Kate's music is drawn from her lifelong experience and love of the American old-time country tradition. An award-winning fiddler, banjo player, singer, guitarist and songwriter, she has been bringing country music to life in the UK for many years. Her fine musicianship and knowledge are combined with a uniquely personal interpretation of the music she loves and delivered with humour and real rapport with her audiences.

Kate presently lives in England, where she leads the country's very popular Buffalo Gals string band, and works extensively through the Arts Council of England as a performer and teacher. She also runs and helps to teach La Fuente de Musica, a series of workshop weeks in old-time country music, held in Andalucia. Kate has several recording projects to her name as a solo artist and with her band, including Buffalo Gals' Won't You Come Out Tonight, and Won't Get Trouble in Mind, and her own Ain't No Grave, as well as Walk Chalk Chicken and the soon-to-be-released Stately Mansion--both accompanied by Dave and Tim Bing.
