Jacqui Dankworth and her Musicians

Despite being the daughter of Cleo Laine and John Dankworth,

Jacqui Dankworth doesn’t confine herself to singing jazz, she is gracefully at ease

in folk music, as well as being an imaginative interpreter of the blues. (Seats £20.00)

 

Saturday 26th March - Hailsham Pavilion

Slim Chance play the music of Ronnie Lane

The original band including Steve Simpson and Charlie Hart have reformed

to celebrate Ronnie's goodtime music (How Come, The Poacher etc)......

At the Pavilion we aim to resurrect the “Passing Show” where Ronnie toured the

band in a big top circus marquee - Our show will include jugglers and a troupe

of Can-Can dancers (The Pretty Little Horsebreakers) (Seats £19.50)

Albert Lee & Hogan’s Heroes

Albert Lee, who is making his annual visit to the Hailsham Pavilion, is a musician's

musician with an impeccable pedigree achieved over many years of touring

and recording with amongst others, Emmylou Harris, Paul McCartney, Eric Clapton

and Bill Wyman's Rhythm Kings. (Seats £20.00)

 

Saturday 16th April - Hailsham Pavilion

Heidi Talbot with John McCusker and Ian Carr

Having cut her teeth as lead singer with Irish American all-female outfit Cherish

The Ladies, Heidi Talbot is right at home in the twin worlds of Irish traditional

and roots music. Heidi will be joined by her partner and accomplished fiddle player,

John McCusker and virtuoso guitarist, Ian Carr, (Seats £18.50) 

 

 Sunday 24th April - Underground Theatre, Eastbourne

John Renbourn & Robin Williamson (Spyboy supporting the Eastbourne Festival)

Luminary guitarist and songwriter John Renbourn is best known for his collaboration with Bert Jansch, and also enjoyed great success with folk/jazz fusion band Pentangle.

Multi instrumentalist, musician, singer, songwriter and master Celtic storyteller Robin Williamson was a member of the Incredible String Band between 1966 and 1974, during which time they were one of the most popular and influential groups of the era. (Seats £17.50)

 

Sunday 1st May - Underground Theatre, Eastbourne

Eve Loiseau with Fiona Barrow, violin and Eddy Jay, accordion

perform the songs of Edith Piaf (Spyboy supporting the Eastbourne Festival)

 

Eve Loiseau’s lustrous French tone captures the essence of the Piaf performance.

As well as a dramatic narrative thread, the show includes the iconic songs: La vie en rose,

Sous le ciel de Paris, Autumn Leaves, Padam, C’est merveilleux, Mon Dieu, L’hymne à L’amour, L’accordéoniste, Non je ne regrette rien and Milord. (Seats £18.50)

 

Saturday 21st May - Hailsham Pavilion

Three Bonzos and a Piano!

Bonzo Dog Doo Dah Band fans will be delighted to learn that Roger Ruskin Spear, Rodney Slater and Sam Spoons have teamed up with super-pianist Dave Glasson to create more fun, music and subversive diversion in the spirit of the ageless band, "a sort of Bash Street Bonzos".

Our last ceilidh of 2010 is this Friday (10th December) with caller Cate Bannister and our fabulous house band.

Interval entertainment for this month comes in the form of a mummers play from the Brafront Guizers.
