Subject: Regular Frittenden session Sunday 26th September

This Sunday (the 26th) we're looking forward to the first Frittenden session of mixed songs, tunes and step dancing of the new season, in the company of singers Gordon Brenchley and Malcolm Watson from Whitstable.

Don't worry if you're not a singer - the format we follow at Frittenden will ensure plenty of time for playing tunes, dancing and storytelling - or anything else that's entertaining and legal that you might have to give us.

The Frittenden sessions take place at the Bell & Jorrocks pub at Frittenden, Kent, and start at 8pm and continue until it's time to sing Nellie Dean and say goodnight. They're informal and free, with lots of old fashioned and traditional songs and tunes, and a big emphasis on variety, humour and entertainment generally.

As we like to say, if you liked your pub the way it was before the telly and the computer came, this is the event for you.

We look forward to seeing you again on Sunday!

Gavin and Julie Atkin

Hi,

I am afraid there is no Bluegrass or Old-Time at Grove Ferry in September

I nearly managed to build a gig, but in the end there were too many problems.

We have a great gig lined up for Friday 15th October, with virtuoso fiddler Chris Haigh and guitarist Paul Kerr.

They will probably do some Blues and other Americana, as well as Bluegrass and Old-Time.

The last two gigs at Grove Ferry have concluded with Man of Constant Sorrow ......

...... to hear what Chris Haigh and Paul Kerr do with this piece, visit :

cheers,
