Take Art events is 'Two Gentlemen of Verona', on tour throughout Somerset this
Autumn. The show is presented by Two Gents Productions:
www.wegottickets.com/af/60/redirect/137;
a Zimbabwean riot of love,
friendship and betrayal.
"I was completely amazed when I saw this fantastic show at Bath Theatre Royal
last season. From Verona to Milan, via Harare and Bulawayo, two great friends
vie for the love of the same woman in a wonderful re-telling of this classic
Shakespearean comedy. Using little to no props, just a few items of clothing,
a washing line and a suitcase, the two actors slip into the plays 15
characters - from amorous suitors to sullen daughters, depressed servants and
even a dog! With great intuition and comic timing, the actors bring
Shakespeare's verse to life in a totally new style. A striking gem of a
production." What's On Stage

The Rose Theatre:
www.wegottickets.com/af/60/redirect/144
in Central
London has 'The Spanish Tragedy' by Thomas Kyd running throughout September.
This bloody drama received its first performance at the Rose Theatre in or
around 1587, and there is some reason to think that Shakespeare himself might
have been in the cast. This new streamlined production presents the main
story, with a magnetic performance by Hayward Morse as Hieronimo the Marshall
who assumes madness to take revenge on the murderers of his only son, a ruse
which leaves the stage littered with bodies by the end.
*The Tempest* - London

Running from Tuesday 5th to Saturday 30th October, the Rose Theatre is proud

great masterpiece. It is a profound lyrical romance, touching on morality and
the supernatural with a unique atmosphere of simultaneous space, freedom and
claustrophobia.

Tickets/Info:
www.wegottickets.com/af/60/f/1112
The Brighton Little Theatre:
www.wegottickets.com/af/60/redirect/145
is
busy, busy, busy with no less than three productions on the go over the next
couple of months; 'Rebecca' by Daphne du Maurier runs from Tuesday 28th
September to Saturday 2nd October.
Max de Winter brings his shy young bride to Manderley, his fine house in
Cornwall. Everywhere she senses the presence of Rebecca, his first wife,
drowned in a sailing accident. Mrs Danvers, the intimidating housekeeper,
still devoted to her dead mistress, preys on the new Mrs de Winters
shortcomings. By chance Rebecca's real remains are found. It seems Max had
mis-identified the body of a stranger. Was this deliberate? He reveals noisome
details of Rebecca's depraved life and admits he was responsible for her
death. Then the battle begins to save him from the gallows. The seething
storm-tossed location, the dark suspense and the implacable clash of wills are
all retained in this adaptation of Daphne du Maurier's famous novel.
*Six Characters in Search of an Author* - East Sussex
Tickets/Info:
www.wegottickets.com/af/60/find/artist/Six+Characters+In+Search
'Six Characters in Search of an Author', by Luigi Pirandello runs from Tuesday
2nd November until Saturday 6th November.
'Six Characters in Search of an Author' was written in 1927 and is recognised
as one the great plays of the 20th Century. An existentialist masterpiece that
explores the gap between appearance and reality and the potentially tragicomic
nature of all human transactions. While rehearsing a play in an empty theatre,
a theatrical troupe encounter six characters, from an unfinished play, who beg
for the opportunity to play out their story. They soon begin to behave like
real people - but they are characters - but are they any less real than the
creations of the actors? A complex, funny and provocative play, 'Six
Characters in Search of an Author' has challenged and entertained audiences
and theatre companies for over 70 years
*The Cemetery Club* - East Sussex
Tickets/Info :
www.wegottickets.com/af/60/find/artist/The+Cemetery+Club

Theatre :
www.wegottickets.com/af/60/redirect/145performs
their final
production of the year with 'The Cemetery Club' by Ivan Menchell.
Contrary to its title, the play is lively in its warmth, humour and the depth
of characters. The three ladies, Doris, Ida and Lucille meet once a month to
visit the graves of their respective departed husbands, hence "The Club". The
storyline leads you on a journey as they come to terms, in their differing
ways, with exploring life after the loss of a loved one. Events go on apace
with the introduction of Sam, a well to do butcher who takes a shine to one of
the "girls". However, the other two have reasons of their own as to why this
would not be a good idea. Will true love win through in the end?
*Sherlock Holmes... the death and life* - Dorset Tickets/Info :
www.wegottickets.com/af/60/event/86856
As one moves further around the coast at Lyme Regis the Marine Theatre:
www.wegottickets.com/af/60/redirect/146
is presenting a number of
theatrical productions up to Christmas including 'Sherlock Holmes.. the death
and life' by Roger Llewellyn on Saturday 9th October. In this wryly humorous
tale, of murder, mystery and the occult, the world's greatest detective
refuses to leave the stage.
This fantasy based upon a fiction finds Conan Doyle tiring of his intolerably
arrogant Sherlock Holmes and inventing the malevolent Moriarty to dispose of
him. But Doyle's dangerous strategy, combined with his passion for raising the
spirits of the dead, has rather more surreal and dramatic consequences than he
bargains for...

stranger, whose ship is crushed in the ice. When Malina discovers her dream
has become real she knows only she can save the stranger's life... with just a
little help from Grandpa and his magic drum!
This warm-hearted tale, created by Angel Heart Theatre is inspired by true-
life encounters between 19th century Scottish sailors and the Inuit
communities of the Arctic. Breath-taking puppets (including shadow puppetry),
