Subject: JUDI AVRIL
Dear All,

I am sorry to have to pass on the sad news that Judi died late last week.  Ivor, who was naturally very distraught, rang Dannie on Friday afternoon.  She passed on the sad news to me whilst I was in Crewe and to a few of you by phone but as I have only arrived home this evening this is the first opportunity that I have had to pass the sad news on to the majority of you.

For those who didn't know Judi very well, she was a stalwart of what is now Folk At The Drum having been involved with the club at every venue which it had over many years.  She was also a regular at the Crabble Folk Nights from when the late Alan Sugden started up these evenings in the late nineties.  She wrote tremendous poems and songs, often very soon after the event in question.

I always thoroughly enjoyed Judi's folk contributions and the many lovely photos she used to send me with her e-mails.  She was a lovely lady and despite struggling with her health recently she would come along to Crabble whenever she could.  She will be sorely missed and our thoughts must go out to Ivor and her family at this very sad time for them.  As soon as I have any details of the funeral arrangement I shall pass them on to you.

Best regards

David
