Dear Friends,
Although winter has us firmly in its grip, let us encourage you to think about the balmy days of Spring
and the return of Oxford May Music to the Holywell Music Room for its third season. We have another exciting programme for you,
with the Festival's trademark mix of lectures from leading names in science and the arts together with
some of the most exciting musicians in the classical scene today. An innovation this year is humour - we are
delighted to welcome Rainer Hersch with his hilarious show "All Classical Music Explained". Once again
we have been able to hold ticket prices at the 2008 level, but given that the commercial sponsorship climate
is even more difficult this year than last, we are particularly dependent on supporters like you to ensure
that the Festival can continue. If you have not already done so, please consider becoming a Friend of the
Festival, which has a number of  benefits in addition to helping to safeguard the Festival. Information on
how to do this is available on our web site . The full programme is attached for your convenience, as is
a pdf of the flyer, which will shortly be available in strategic locations in Oxford and its environs. If you would like a copy
of the flyer through the post, please reply to this email. More details and information are available on
http://www.oxfordmaymusic.co.uk/ Tickets are already on sale through Tickets Oxford at the Oxford Playhouse.
Again, details of prices and season and half-season ticket offers are available on the web or by calling Tickets Oxford
on 01865 305305.

If you have questions or need further information, please email us. We look forward to seeing you at the Festival!
Best wishes,
Jack and Brian
