Greetings.

The first OFFShoot Oxford Folk Festival Fringe starts this Friday.

For something completely original, come to ‘Mouth Music Mayhem’ on Tuesday, 9th March 2010!
Venue: Wesley Memorial Methodist Church, New Inn Hall Street, Oxford OX1 2DH.
Times: 7.45pm to 10pm with a 15 minute break
Tickets; online or at the door - £10 (£8 concession).
Format – 1st half: The Wright Family, Jonathon Cope, Peter Hope-Evans and Kirtlington Morris.
2nd half: Moyle and Sam Lee, plus more of the others

Six acts playing traditional, world and experimental music – the best British Jew’s harp players of different styles you are likely to hear: The Wright Family (Michael, David & Lucy) with Sam Lee (one of the finest singers around at the moment); Jonathon Cope (multi-instrumentalist); Peter Hope-Evans (ex-Medicine Head drummer and a favourite of the late John Peel), plus Moyle (experimental music group) and a special appearance of KIRTLINGTON MORRIS – you won’t have seen or heard anything like it!

Subject: Haiti fundraiser

Music for Change are having a fundraiser for the Haiti earthquake appeal on Sunday the 7th March in Whitstable

Please feel free to pass the details on to anyone you think might be interested!

We have Samba Pelo Mar performing from 2-3pm in Horsebridge Square, then Lucky Moyo is delivering a singing and dancing workshop (ages 5+ £2 per person) between 3:30-4:30pm at the Old Stables function room in the Duke of Cumberland pub. At the same venue from 6:30-10pm we have a concert with performances from Téa Hodzic, Relig Oran and U’Zambezi. Tickets will be £5 and all proceeds to the DEC Haiti earthquake appeal.
