Join us this month for legendary guitarist Martin Simpson on his True Stories tour, the London Gypsy Orchestra's exuberant take-over of Cecil Sharp House, and former artist in residence Matthew Cowan's new exhibition at Swiss Cottage Library. Plus we have our usual selection of dances, workshops and more - don't miss your favourite.
Cecil Sharp's diaries now available in full
The final part of the project to get Cecil Sharp's diaries online has now been completed - you can read all of Sharp's diaries from 1915-1918 online, searchable by date. These are his only surviving personal diaries, in which he describes his collecting experiences in the Appalachian Mountains of North America.

London Gypsy Orchestra: Opa Cupa!

The London Gypsy Orchestra are filling Cecil Sharp House with music and workshops to celebrate the work of Danica Janković. With a special family workshop and concert, workshops in Serbian dance, music and percussion, and a Serbian buffet in the evening with musical accompaniment.

Exhibition: The Foggy Dew

Matthew Cowan (EFDSS artist in residence 2009) and EFDSS have been invited to curate an exhibition at Swiss Cottage Library's respected visual arts gallery. Foggy Dew will display selected images and artefacts from the Vaughan Williams Memorial Library along with contemporary artworks, including some that were featured in the Mumchance and Guise exhibition.

A Singing History of London

Song workshop for adults

The workshop will be based on Singing Histories: London, a song booklet produced in partnership with Sing London. Free, no need to pre-book, but places are limited so please arrive in good time.
