Family
Dance Workshop 2pm: Learn
traditional Serbian dances in a lively, joyful workshop. This workshop is
suitable for families including all members and ages. Small children
welcome – parents take the responsibility. This is for beginners

Concert 3pm:
A lively London Gypsy
Orchestra performance. The concert is tailored for families with children; small
children welcome. The Zivko Firfov Folklore Group will perform dances from
Serbia in original costumes.
Workshops
4.30pm:
choose one of the 3:
Dance
Workshop: Mixed
level workshop (suitable for beginners with no previous experience) for Serbian
traditional dances. This workshop is suitable for adults and for children 10
years and older. For the last section of this workshop, the Music Workshop
participants will join and play the music for the dancers. Led by Joan
Sach.
Music
Workshop: Learn traditional
Serbian dance music, mixed level from grade 4 or equivalent, all kinds of
instruments welcome. Please email to gundulagruen_at_gmail_dot_com with your
booking confirmation if you would like to receive the sheet music to practice
beforehand! Please bring a music stand! For the last section of the workshop we
will join the Dance Workshop and perform the dances together. Led by
Gundula Gruen.
Percussion
Workshop:
Have fun with various
Balkan rhythms on drums and percussion! Basic technique + exploration of
straight and unusual eastern dance rhythms. Bring your own drum if possible –
limited no of instruments provided. Led by Tom
Wagner.
Musical
Dinner 6pm:
A delicious Serbian
style buffet is offered – a big variety of veggy and meaty dishes, not to forget
the deserts J £7. Following last
year’s food shortage we commissioned a well-reputed Serbian
chef…
Open
Mic: This accompanies the
Musical Dinner. LGO would like to invite
musicians, storytellers, poets, dancers, etc, to perform a piece –
inspired by Serbia - on the open mic. Small PA set up and CD player
available.. Performers can register by email to gundulagruen_at_gmail_dot_com, Performers may have either a half price buffet or a
free drink from the bar. Please note that performing on the open mic
does not give free entrance to any other
performances.
Evening
Concert 8pm: A full-length
full-colour LGO concert, with special guests Zivko Firfov Folklore Group
performing a variety of Serbian dances. Along with their popular
repertoire, the LGO will showcase some new pieces from former Yugoslavian
regions.
