Classic
Appalachian Blues from Smithsonian
Folkways, a 21-track compilation drawn from
the Smithsonian Folkways collection and performances at the
Smithsonian Folklife Festival, is now available at folkways.si.edu.
The
music of bedrock blues performers such as Pink Anderson,
Lesley Riddle, Etta Baker, John Jackson, and Doc Watson shines
bright, claiming Appalachia as one of the cradles of American
acoustic blues.
