Hello Everyone

Thank you to all who attended last week's Big Mammas Door performance.

Here is MC John Cordingley's report of the night:

Another great evening at the Roffen with  Big Mammas Door featuring singer Fiona Mc Elroy out front with a great voice and a sexy wiggle although she did mention that she was not at her best as she was suffering with a sore throat  but it did not spoil the evening’s performance. Lead guitar by Mal was not in your face and some nice blues and boogie woogie from Henri on keyboard. Alan in the front row tried to verbally take on Fiona saying that he could not understand her, he lost, you don’t take on a red headed Irish girl like that, it was all in good fun and we all enjoyed the evening. It was great to see Richard at the meeting, I think he was checking up on us to see that Sandra Terry and I are not letting the club down; he said that he was satisfied so let’s look forward to seeing Earl Green next month on the 23rd.

What a great gig, it was fantastic to see you all and to receive your requests for returns, all of which I have acted upon over the last week or so with the result that March sees Guy Tortora, April, the Spikedrivers, September, Geoff Achison and October, Nicky Moore's Blues Corporation.  My only failure was in booking Ian Siegal, who is very busy in Europe this year.  Maybe next year!  Please don't email me with bookings for the Spikedriver, Achison and Moore gigs until the month preceding, although reservations may be made for these in person at the club from the February event onwards.

Which brings us to this month with Earl Green and the Right Time on Tuesday February 23rd.  This act came by recommendation via founding father John Adams and I have personally seen Earl sing several times.  Earl is, without doubt, one of the country's finest male blues vocalists, indeed an award winning, world-class performer.   Backing him up is a tight unit of top notch musicians in the form of the Right Time, so another night of top quality entertainment is guaranteed.

Do check out Earl and the band on the following:  www.earlgreen.co.uk and www.myspace.com/earlgreenandtherighttime

Look forward to seeing you then on the 23rd February at the Roffen Suite, bookings to me at the return email address please, tickets £10 each.
