Hi Everyone
Hope everyone got the message concerning Thursday's Jeff Lang gig and nobody ventured out in the snow.

Just to confirm the gig has been rescheduled for Saturday 20th Feb at 8pm. at Crowhurst Park ( He is off to Japan on Sunday)
Of course all tickets are valued. If you can't make it and have tickets just get in touch and we will either exchange for anther show or refund.

Aussie bluesman Jeff Lang  is world renowned as a prolific artist. He has defied categorization by bending and blurring genres to create his own ever-evolving sound from the base ingredients of Folk, Rock, Blues, and Experimental and World music styles.. A guitarist, singer and songwriter, Jeff has built up a reputation for startlingly original performances, working without a set list, allowing the unique energy of each night to shape the songs. None other than Rolling Stone magazine's review of his latest album comments, “His dizzying combination of deep folk, kaleidoscopic blues and Hendrixesque fuzzy rock is enough to blow most minds, leaving celebrated contemporaries for dead.”

See you then

* New CD Release - 'The Beautiful and Cruel'
We’ve been busy here at Hopper HQ and I am looking forward to sharing the fruits of our recent activity with you. In December Leigh and I travelled to Malmo in the south of Sweden to record a new collection of songs with the help of some fine Swedish musicians.

It's called 'The Beautiful and Cruel' and you might recognise several of the songs from it since they have formed the backbone of our live sets for the last year or so. They include 'Warp and Weft', 'Two in the Margins' and 'Flat Shoes'. This album is a departure from the largely social and political material of the last couple of cds and deals mostly with affairs of the heart – though there is room for a couple of Hopper observations on 'what people get up to'. I hope that you will agree that this 12-song album is a worthy addition to the Hopper canon.

The cd will be available at gigs and by mail order (send a cheque made out to J S Hopper for £10.00 inc p+p to 'The Beautiful and Cruel, 47 Vaughan Lodge, Fair Acres, Bromley, BR2 9BN). We’re hoping that the cd will soon be available in shops and via the web; I’ll keep you posted. It’s still in production, so keep an eye on <http://www.simonhopper.co.uk/buy.html> to find out when it’s available.

*Summer Tour

I will be touring with Andee in the north of England and Scotland in late July/early August this year. More news to follow.

All the best!
