Foolproof at Orpington Friday Folk on Fri 5 Feb.To borrow from Horsham FC’s recent publicity:Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars by Maverick Magazine, Sue Hudson (formerly one half of Tundra) and Cliff Baylis deliver a compelling mix of country and folk with overtones of blues and gospel. The growing reputation of Foolproof is based on their choice of excellent songs, delivered by a combination of dynamic lead and harmony vocals with driving guitar and sparkling breaks on mandolin. “. . . stripped-back Americana with an English folk bent”.Websites: www.foolproofduo.co.uk and www.orpingtonfridayfolk.bravehost.com/

The next Frittenden session will be during the evening of Sunday the 28th February and will feature singer Liz Randall and anglo and melodeon whizz Mick Lynn.
Put it in your diary and we'll see you then if not before!
Julie and Gavin
PS Don't forget to put the weekend of the 20th March in your diaries also. There will be a session on the Friday as well as the usual Saturday jollities. Read all about it here: http://frittendenfestival.com
PPS And finally here's the usual commercial to pass on to friends:
The sessions take place at the Bell & Jorrocks pub at Frittenden, Kent, and start at 8pm and continue until it's time to sing Nellie Dean and say goodnight. They're informal and free, with lots of old fashioned and traditional songs and tunes, and a big emphasis on variety, humour and entertainment generally - as we like to say, if you liked your pub the way it was before the telly and the computer came, this is the event for you.
