The Teddy Simmonds Jazz
Band (TSJB) is delighted to return to perform at Le QuecumBar home of Gypsy
Swing. Led by multi-instrumentalist Hugo ‘Teddy’ Simmonds on the clarinet,
with Rohit Nijhawan and Ed Shearer playing lead guitar, Marius McGinnis on
rhythm and Kevin Carney on double bass, TSJB is a hard swinging hot-club quintet
that mixes American swing, Django classics and quirky originals. The five
musicians that comprise TSJB were all drawn to Django’s unique style of Gypsy
jazz from a variety of musical backgrounds including classical, modern jazz,
blues, New Orleans, country and rock ‘n’ roll – but as QuecumBar regulars and

Tcha is a blind,
multilingual multi-instrumentalist, Tcha has accomplishments that span violin,
guitar, clarinet, and vocals. Born into a family of Gypsy musicians, he began
performing with the De Piottos on clarinet, later swapping his clarinet for a
guitar to play rhythm alongside Koen de Cauter in the ground-breaking Waso. At
17, he took up violin, inspired by stories of his grandfather, legendary
violinist Piotto Limberger, and recordings from Hungarian Toki Horvat. Later, in

Gypsy family, is a young rising star on today’s Gypsy Jazz scene. In 2000, he
