Three musical legends available for
FESTIVALS and MUSIC VENUES in 2010

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
RAB NOAKES

Legendary Scottish singer-songwriter Rab Noakes has a career spanning 15 albums and major collaborations with Lindisfarne, Gerry Rafferty and Stealers Wheel and has been described as "the closest Scotland has to musical royalty". Rab's performances are a feast of original hook-laden songs and affectionate interpretations of the American music back-catalogue, and it is easy to see why his repertoire has been described as “a roots festival in itself” (The Herald). His intense and compelling style always works its magic on audiences and never fails to inspire, and his unique vocals and intelligent turn of phrase have kept him at the cutting edge of songwriting for the best part of thirty-five years.

“Catchy melodies and gritty lyrics that speak for everyman....you will go home at the end of the gig feeling you've experienced every emotion.” BBC Radio Scotland

“The attention to detail and mastery of the songwriters craft that established him as man of renown. ... " Folk Roots Magazine

“The expertise of someone who’s done it all. Stunning.”  Living Tradition

TAM WHITE

If there's one man who can prove that you don't need to come from Chicago, Memphis or the Mississippi Delta to sing the blues, it's Tam White. He is undoubtedly Scotland's national blues treasure and "the greatest undiscovered blues talent of our time" (Alexis Korner).  In an illustrious career spanning over four decades, Tam White has established himself as a troubadour in the truest sense of the word.  His repertoire is drawn from personal experience and his appearances are a master class in how to lift, move and involve an audience.  In the words of the man himself  “It’s just in my nature to perform, man, I have to do it. I like the message in the music I play. Music is communication.”  Tam is available solo or with his Shoestring Band (trio), or as Tam White and the Sermon organ Trio.”

"Superb melodies, vacuum-tight arrangements, awesome musicianship."  The Scotsman
"One of the best blues singers in Europe."  Mettman Blues Festival
“The handle-bar-moustached singer could hold an audience with an elastic band wrapped around a biscuit tin.” Evening News

MIKE HERON AND GEORGIA SEDDON

Mike Heron was a founding member of the Incredible String Band, the most iconic folk group to emerge from the sixties.  Since they disbanded in 1974, Mike has continued to write prolifically and to release solo albums, many re-released on the 'Glen Row Tapes' CD.  Mike continues to be a songwriter forever pushing the boundaries, but retaining his originality, creativity and musical integrity. He was commissioned to write music for John Burnside’s poem ‘Song For Irena’ at Celtic Connections and also played at Syd Barrett’s memorial concert, a testament to Mike’s groundbreaking musical role over four decades. In July this year Mike was a focal part of 'Very Cellular Songs' a star-studded tribute evening at the Barbican to celebrate the music of the Incredible String Band.  Mike performs with his daughter, Georgia (keyboards, percussion & vocals) who has been described as "the nu-folk answer to Martha Wainwright." Together they have performed at festivals and venues in the UK and Europe. In 2008 they appeared at the Hollywood Bowl and they are now collaborating on their first album release. Their unique performances are a potent mix of new songs and much requested ISB favourites.
