Hope you all enjoyed your
summer holidays and welcome back.
We have a great weekend
coming up and hope to see some of you here relaxing and enjoying some fine live
music.
HOT NEWS
Django Reinhardts 100th
Birthday would have been 23 January 2010
So of course we have to do
something very special - we are in the process of planning a 9 day festival from
Sunday 17th to Monday 25th January inc, this will be a non profit event as we
have to get all the musicians here from all over Europe and of course as usual
they only earn the ticket money from our events.
We will be having high
profile Gypsy and non Gypsy performers playing every night
We will also be setting up
workshops for them here and around
This will be the first
event of its kind in
The EU commission have
pledged their support in helping us produce a 2/3 commemorative cd of the
highlights of the 9 days which is very exciting for us - we are taking advance
orders already on info_at_leqrecords_dot_com
We are also trying to
negotiate a limited number of special room rates with a local hotel to help
customers who live further afield and would like to stay over and drink as
little.
As you know I run QuecumBar
alone and Monika and Kevin work usually without reward to keep Le Q Records
going so we are also seeking volunteer sponsors to assist with printing pr
marketing and anything else related to this project putting up posters
distributing leaflets etc or anything you can think of to help make this event a
great success - Tickets of course will be limited because of space here to 70
per night and customers will be required to dine as that is the only way we can
earn any revenue for the venue.
We have had several fans
propose £250 cash or services (which of course is tax deductable if you have a
business) in sponsorship to help with musicians costs in getting to uk and
helping towards their playing fees - in exchange we will add their names to all
our information going to press and all web site content plus a VIP membership to
Le QuecumBar for 2 years and preferential seating at any of the concerts for
arrivals before 7.30
As always we thank you for
your support all year round and hope to see you soon as the summer has been very
quiet for us and musicians alike and as always support of live music is
imperative to keep it available and alive.
Thank you Sylvia Monika and
Kevin
