Subject: Wednesday at the
Wheatsheaf
Hi Beau,
This WEDNESDAY 14th October,
big Kevin Henty is at the Wheatsheaf Marsh
Green with his latest combo,
ATLANTIC CURRANTS.
As the name suggests,
they play a mix of Americana and English folk, with a bit of country in the mix.
Kevin's melodeon is joined by Carrie on fiddle, Malcolm Peet (dobro, lap steel,
mandolin, guitar and backing vocals) and Dash Ashworth (vocals and guitar). A
good night guaranteed!
You can see Kevin's unmissable alter ego
JUMBO GUMBO at The Cardinal's
Error, 8.30 on THURSDAY 22nd October. I defy
anyone to leave this dose of fast and furious zydeco without a big grin on their
face!
PIG'S EAR will be playing at The
Wheatsheaf on WEDNESDAY 28th October. This
unfortunately will be our last Wednesday bash at Marsh Green - numbers have been
declining, and it's not viable to continue.
Do come and support our
final flings at the Wheatsheaf, Marsh Green (if you're coming straight from
work, I recommend the nosh!), and the monthly "do" at the Cardinal's, if you
possibly can. Keep music live!
Those of you who like the Mick Ryan songs
that Grant and I have stolen might be interested to know that Croydon Folk Club
are putting on Mick's latest "folk opera", The Navvy's Wife on
Monday 26th October. It comes highly recommended, and I for one will be there. The club
meets at Ruskin House, Coombe Road, Croydon.
