Kentgigs has received a sneak preview copy of Slug
It is all that was expected and more. Kingskin have built a faithful following of many 1000's during their years touring the UK with some respected festivals under their belt. The band has matured, they are tight, original and feisty on this their latest masterpiece, ready for the next step - World recognition.
That said, celebrated producer of the stars Steve Albini has captured the Kingskin sound as live as possible on analogue tape in his Chicago studio during sessions in 2009. You only have to visit the band's video site to see it was enjoyable experience all round. PLAY IT LOUD

Petitioning Number 10 For Live Music Concessions
A website has been set up to petit ion the government to allow licensing concessions for small venues to put on live music. The petition already has over 12,000 signatories, and includes the signatures of Lord Clement-Jones, Fabian Hamilton MP, Chris Huhne MP, Jenny Willott MP, Don Foster MP and Feargal Sharkey. We do however need many more to make the Government aware of the strength of feeling among musicians and music lovers that the Licensing Act 2003 is damaging small scale music events.

http://www.kentgigs.com invites you to go to

http://petitions.number10.gov.uk/livemusicevents/

The petition reads:

We the undersigned petition the Prime Minister to stop criminalising live music with the Licensing Act, and to support amendments backed by the Culture, Media and Sport Committee, and the music industry, which would exempt most small-scale performances in schools, hospitals, restaurants and licensed premises.
Under the Licensing Act, a performance by one musician in a bar, restaurant, school or hospital not licensed for live music could lead to a criminal prosecution of those organising the event. Even a piano may count as a licensable 'entertainment facility'. By contrast, amplified big scre en broadcast entertainment is exempt. The government says the Act is necessary to control noise nuisance, crime, disorder and public safety, even though other laws already deal with those risks. Musicians warned the Act would harm small events. About 50% of bars and 75% of restaurants have no live music permission. Obtaining permission for the mildest live music remains costly and time-consuming. In May, the Culture, Media and Sport Committee recommended exemptions for venues up to 200 capacity and for unamplified performance by one or two musicians. The government said no. But those exemptions would restore some fairness in the regulation of live music and encourage grassroots venues.

T his classic band has made over 30 albums, with tracks such as Throw Down the Sword, King Will Come and Phoenix. Its first gig at the mjc was a memorable success dont miss this one!
THIS IS EVENT IS STANDING WITH LIMITED BALCONY SEATS. ...
As part of the year long celebrations the band played an exclusive show and party at the Shepherds Bush Empire. Special guests Ben Granfelt, Mark Birch & Spam Spence did an incredible job and their contributions to the long history of Wishbone Ash shine as brightly today as they did then. The Shepherds Bush show was more than a party, it was a celebration of the rich 40 year history of Wishbone Ash and a thank you to the fans who have supported Andy and the guys over the years. A lot has changed since the bands inception back in 1969, but the one constant? Andy Powell & his dedication to the music and the fans. It has never wavered. He may be the soul & inspiration of the band, but due credit must be given to Bob, Muddy, an d Joe, for they are most certainly the heart.
2009 will see the band doing the following shows / festival / media - Working Class Hero Festival in Norway A show in France on June 13th at the invitation of the mayor of Mezidon in Normandy DVD releases of the 40th gig in Shepherds Bush.
