Subject: Tenterden Folk Festival procession

Tenterden Folk Festival which runs from Friday 2nd to Sunday 4th October includes a procession of Morris and other folk dancers, street entertainers, giants and mascots on Saturday 3rd October.  If any of the Ashford Borough’s performing arts groups or community organisations would like to take part in the procession they are invited to contact us as soon as possible.  Any children taking part must be accompanied by suitable adults.   Participants should be in costume to promote an arts group’s performances or alternatively ethnic national costume.  The procession is a walking procession and leaves Recreation Ground Road at 3.00 p.m. to process to the Coach Park in Station Road and does not include motor vehicles.  Following the procession there is display by some of the 40 plus Morris sides and other folk dance display teams attending the festival.
