If you can't
make it for the whole Festival, Day Season
tickets are a great way to enjoy the full
Festival atmosphere for just one day (we will miss you
on the other days of course!).
And if even one
whole day is not possible then come along to one of our
Festival Dance House Specials? These
big nights out feature major headline artists, a great
warm up and a late night Dance Party all under one great
big canvas. It's the place to party.
Spiral Earth is
one of the best Folk and Acoustic music websites around.
It has unique video interviews with leading artists,
great reviews and previews, guest blogs and does it all
whilst looking great!
And this year the Spiral
earth team are coming to Towersey. They will create The
Spiral Earth Lounge just inside the CD stall on the
Showground and will be chatting, filming and soaking up
the special Towersey vibe throughout the
Festival.
In
collaboration with the Festival they are planning to
make a documetary capturing just what it is that makes
this event so very special. How the village transforms
to create a temporary home for 1000's of visitors and
how the Festival plays its part in village
life.
The Chippy in Thame will
play host to what we believe is Towersey Festivals
smallest ever gig. On Friday night at 7pm Wilber, a stunning local guitarist
will play for those lucky customers queuing for there
fish supper.
The Festivals
link with Thame is strong and we are continually looking
for ways to make it even stronger and bring more people
down to experience the wonderful Towersey
Showground.
Check out Wilber on Friday 28 August
at 7pm and throughout the festival on various Stages -
he's got Sole..............and chips!

10 Weeks
to go until another blissful Towersey Festival under the
big blue skies and starlit nights of Oxfordshire's
"little village with the big ideas" and in the office we
have all started to get just a little bit
excited.
As
Lioux ploughs through the ticket bookings, customer
inquiries and questions she is looking forward to seeing
the final part of the jigsaw and all the smiley faces.
Edward II who are "Just Stonking" and
the beautiful Chris Smither (He is just the best)
are on her hit list.
Getting hungry finalising all the
catering for the festival, Joe can't wait to put his
feet up and hear some stunning vocals from Karine Polwart, Devon Sproule and Heidi Talbot.
And
Steve ponders on thoughts for 2010 and 11 while looking
forward to the promised summer and great build up (he
just likes living in the caravan really!). Come the
weekend, new visitors and the look of surprise on their
faces, old friends, chats and stories in the The Den, our chill out space........
and don't talk to him when Chris Smither is on. Just now he is in
the loft looking for his pink pajamas (see
Finale).
the sum
of many parts
Yes, we
have a huge line up of top artist's packing out our
main-stage venues and of course we have the unique
Showground with its wall to wall Street Arts Festival
and stunning summer vibe. But Towersey is more than just
big names and big stages. The fringes of the festival
and indeed the village provide us with that special,
magical something that make Towersey what it
is.
Sing-a-rounds
in the pub barn, workshops in the church, the Manor Barn
and the legendary lantern making, non stop dancing in
the pub yard and of course the countless impromptu
sessions of music and song that spring up around the
Site, virtually 24 hours a day. This and more is what
sets Towersey apart.
Love them or
not Camper's dogs have always been welcome at Towersey.
Well behaved and well looked after they have rarely
presented a problem. But the buzzing atmosphere that a
packed Showground creates is clearly not the place for a
dog. However well behaved, the sheer number of people,
constant noise and heat (on a good day!) make dogs very
nervous and we have to ask you not to bring your
dog onto the Showground this year.
Clearly, if you are passing through to a
Concert on Ceilidh or heading back to your tent on
Site1, then you will have to cross the Showground and
you may have your dog pulling you along. This is fine of
course but please don't hang around or go to the Bar,
Craft Fair or other showground attraction along the
way.
So,
dogs are welcome as part of your family group. We just
ask that you let them enjoy the festival too and don't
bring them to potentially uncomfortable, crowded areas
like the Showground.
A place to
relax and be with friends. A space for reflection and
calm where the excitement and energy of the Festival can
carry on around you. An oasis where you can get a great
cuppa, read the paper, put a message on the Message Tree
and get away from it all.
And as well
as all that we want you to bring a great book that you
no longer want and drop them into our Give and Take
Library! You bring an old book and swap it for someone
else's old read.
