26 - 28 June 2009 sees Crawley Folk Festival back with a bang and it's bigger and better than ever.
We have everything you have come to expect from this 3-day musical feast...
Great live music from over 30 bands including Oysterband, Martin Carthy and Dave Swarbrick, Eliza Carthy Band, Steve Knightley, Rattle On The Stovepipe and more! The ever-popular real ale tent featuring 35 top ales and ciders Stalls selling food, crafts, plants, homemade jewellery, clothing, aromatherapy treatments, instruments and artwork Demonstrations of morris dancing and traditional folk danceplus much more!
SO WHAT'S NEW & IMPROVED?
Improved children's area
This year the children's area has even more to offer, including free workshops and activities for all ages from the homemade instruments of The Ragtime Jug Orchestra to storytelling and 'Broomsticks to Barleycorn' - a journey through the traditions of the year in song, dance and drama.
Roving Storyteller
You'll no doubt have seen the storytelling tent at previous Folk Festivals but this year there is no need for you to go to the storyteller, they will come to you as they wander the site spinning magic tales and keeping listeners enthralled.
English Ceilidh
In a first for Crawley Folk Festival there will be an English Ceilidh on the Saturday afternoon, with music from Zoox and caller Fee Lock will take you through the dances.
Adrian Edmondson and The Bad Shepherds
We are thrilled to announce that The Bad Shepherds will be taking to the stage with lead singer Adrian Edmondson (The Young Ones, Bottom, Holby City) singing famous punk songs with a folk twist.
Crawley Celtic & Irish Society Stage
There's also the premiere of The Celtic and Irish Stage with vibrant, colourful dancing and toe-tapping music throughout Sunday.
