Hello Everyone.
Thank you for supporting last week's Gordon
Smith gig and I would also like to personally thank John, Terry
and Sandra (with Roy joining the team next month) for running the show
in my absence and keeping the club alive.
Here's what John Cordingley said:
"A great evening was has by all on the 26th when
Gordon Smith and his band did us proud and gave us an entertaining selection of
his blues, no fuss, nice slide and good harp playing and a bass player that
sings. Many thanks from Sandra, Terry and myself to the membership for not only
accepting us but for all the help and encouragement they gave on the
evening, I must try and remember the names. Also thanks for supporting the
raffle it is much appreciated. Look forward to seeing you all again at the next
club night. John Cordingley."
......and now on to the next one with the one and
only Matt Schofield, which is going to be very busy indeed, so
please book early to avoid disappointment!
Matt, who is just about the number one guitarist/vocalist
rising star on the scene, will be performing numbers from his just released CD
which was reviewed in Mojo magazine. The album received a four star
rating, saying "With Heads, Tails & Aces Schofield steps up to another
level altogether." Perhaps, most significantly, the review is not buried in the
blues column but is right up front with the biggest releases of the
month.
So there again in spirit and really wishing I could see
this one, I look forward to your attendance on Tuesday 30th June 2009 at
the Roffen Suite, New Road, Rochester for Matt
Schofield and his band.
Just a reminder that the July Lisa
Mills gig is the 21st, not the 28th, July.
Thank you.
