24th April 2009 – Xanthe Gresham – “The Bag of  Wonders”

Storytelling that's as sharp as a lemon and as sweet as a  nut.  Accept it or not, we’re all hooked on our baggage system, whether  it's a clutch bag or a
holdall, but forget what's in yours and come and rummage  around in Xanthe's bottomless bag.  Between the kitchen sink and the old  tube tickets lies a pick
and mix of marvels, fibs and fables.  See what you  can pull from this lucky dip!

29th May 2009– Alex Somerville –  “Stretching the Truth”

Storyteller, Alex Somerville, searches out  the truth in and amongst a
cornucopia of Egyptian and Urban Myths. And threading  them all together is the snake which gets everywhere from guarding a treasure at  the bottom of the River Nile to hiding in a cowboy boot. A thought-provoking and  spell-binding show that deals with the paradox of creation and the reason why we  believe in stories.

26th June 2009– Kate Portal – “Tales for  Summer”

Kate Portal will be telling tales for the season of summer,  adding the warmth of a song or tune or two.  So come and enjoy the  brightness of a summer
evening at The Sanctuary.

24th July 2009 –  Ghislaine Walker - “From behind the pharmacist’s counter”

Ghislaine  Walker has been absorbing the stories that shape her local area for many years.  She will share tales from behind the pharmacist’s counter – of
sickness and  health, of charlatans and conmen. Tales of the ordinary woven in with the  extraordinary.
