Subject: 2 Le QuecumBars 6th Birthday - Prestige Performance Concerts, special events and gig list Feb March April 2009 Please pass to all interested parties - if you wish to receive our monthly newsletter email: webmaster_at_quecumbar_dot_co_dot_uk (‘newsletter’ in the subject bar) We’ve some big things this month, including our 6th Birthday celebration February 11th, The whole of Valentine’s weekend and the return of USA’s guitar legend John Jorgenson to the bar.
Before we launch into February’s events, though, we have some good news to share. Regular visitors and readers of our updates will be aware that we have undergone a licence review and had a noise abatement notice served upon us, the latter to be fought in court this week. We are delighted to announce that, following negotiations with Wandsworth Council, the court appearance has been cancelled and Le QuecumBar can continue to function as usual.
Our many thanks to those friends and supporters around the UK who have offered help, or simply supported us through this difficult time especially those who put in some effort to find out valuable information, you know who you are, Thank you all. Raise a glass to Le Q!

A bargain for an off the wall musical experience! Swing Jazz as it used to be: playing it fast and louche! Arthur Foxaque, “The Caustic Crooner” and notorious dandy, sings with his genuine 30’s crooning voice, flowing like honey through art deco melodies, creating an atmosphere harking back to prohibition parties and silver screen romances. As if this is not enough, the band also sports their very own tap dancer and Charleston flapper, Josephine Shaker: a work of art; an intoxicating modern day fusion between Ginger Rogers and Josephine Baker! TOP SHELF JAZZ
A bargain for an off the wall musical experience! Swing Jazz as it used to be: playing it fast and louche! Delicious echoes of Al Bowlly, The Ink Spots and Fats Waller with a dangerous hint of Gypsy swing rolled into one hot menagerie of crooning, tap dance, old world suave, rakish banter and correspondent shoes. Where else would you rather be, greeting the coming autumn? ok... if you can't go to Barbados.. Tickets in advance www.wegoottickets.com and www.quecumbar.co.uk £13 door
