efolkMusic Pretty Darned Important News, Feb 09
Moving day nears, change is gonna come...

Dear Friends,

We are getting very excited around here, just about ready to move into our new website.  We are planning for a Feb 17th changeover, with all major structural work completed. We have most of the content "ported" over- we are pushing it a bit, but the "application" is about ready, so why wait???  We are also using the opportunity to do much-needed housekeeping, from 8 years of accumulated "stuff"- we're throwing out a lot of out-of-date info, editing and updating our active artists, and not a minute too soon.

All current services will continue, except that we we will be "outsourcing" our retail operations to the "experts".  Almost all of the artists we list already offer music via Amazon and iTunes these days- it ain't 1999 anymore, when we were about the only game in town offering folk MP3s. We'll be linking all artist pages to their preferred vendors for MP3 and CD sales, using "affiliate" links to help support the site. This change allows us to re-focus on our core mission, "furthering the understanding, appreciation, preservation, and performance of traditional and contemporary folk music from around the world" and do a lot less bookkeeping! efolkMusic will end up an improved, modern, more usable and accessible music service.

Attention supporting members.....all currently active members will have access to member MP3s on the new site, you'll login with your current email and password.  We'll be writing you with more details as the "day" approaches.

Attention "Multipak" purchasers...we're sorry for not giving you more notice, but since we won't be selling MP3s after Feb 17 we ask that you please use up any remaining Multipak credits this week. If that is not possible, there are two remedies: 1) write us for a refund based on remaining credits. 2) Consider your unused credits a donation to support this nonprofit. Obviously #2 is best for us, but we will honor our commitment to you. Please, log on a get some songs!

Attention everybody.... thanks for your patience during this transition. We believe the new site will be an even better resource for fans and artists, and with your support we can continue to keep you all in "high touch" with our community.

Regards,

efolkMusic CEO Chris Frank

PS I'd be remiss in my duties if I didn't remind you that we are nowhere without your support- as always, donations of any amount always appreciated. If you want to help, please drop by our new site, still under construction. The new donation and subscribe links work perfectly...

efolkMusic is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization
