Further to the last letter, I've been sent some interesting links which I thought it only fair to share... Megson were nominated for Best Duo at this week's Folk Awards, but lost to our other favourites - the wonderful Chris While and Julie Matthews. A shame for Megson, but I couldn't be more pleased for Chris and Julie, long overdue in my opinion. Little did I know last week when I booked them to come in September that they'd be back as 'Best Duo' I am sure Megson will get the opportunity again before too long.

If you want somewhere to go tonight (Friday 6th Feb) there's a very interesting concert at the Gulbenkian Theatre, Canterbury. Keith James and Rick Foot - more recently known for performing the Songs of Nick Drake - have a very different show - THE POEMS OF GARCIA LORCA. The evening will feature their interpretations of Lorca’s poetry and songs by other writers he inspired: Joni Mitchell, Nick Drake and, of course, Leonard Cohen. The concert will also include a bio-documentary film about his life, relationships and creativity, 'García Lorca, A Death in Granada'.
A bit of blurb..."This album was first conceived by Keith over 2 years ago during time spent in Andalusia. Having realised that the poetry of Federico Garcia Lorca was so wonderful in every sense, and that Rick was also a great fan of his work (he lived and played in Granada for a year or so) Keith traced the strong lyrical influence and deep adoration through many other contemporary songwriters of our age; most notably Leonard Cohen.
Federico Garcia Lorca, murdered during the Spanish Civil War, is the most beloved and influential of all modern poets. His reputation puts him as one of the greatest writers of the 20th century. Passionate, urgent, haunting and evocative, Lorca also wrote dramatic, modernist plays, many of which have been performed worldwide.
