John’s
incredible versatility as a player has been well known throughout the guitar

music of
Django
Reinhardt and his contemporaries. With a set that includes both original

date with
his seamless
integration of modern influences, techniques and compositional devices,
producing a
sound that is
rooted in the traditions of the genre, but vital, forward thinking and highly
original.
Tonight’s
line-up features John’s old rhythm partner from John Jorgenson’s Quintet, the

The Teddy
Simmonds Jazz Band (TSJB) is delighted to be making its debut performance at Le

guitar, Marius McGinnis on rhythm and Kevin Carney on double bass, TSJB is a
hard swinging hot-club quintet that mixes American swing, Django classics and
quirky originals. The five musicians that comprise TSJB were all drawn to
Django’s unique style of Gypsy jazz from a variety of musical backgrounds
including classical, modern jazz, blues, New Orleans, country and rock ‘n’ roll
– but as QuecumBar regulars and Django aficionados will know, once you hear the
