Subject: "Junctions" concert at Komedia

Hi all

The first concert in the new "Junctions: English Music Breaking Formation" series is almost upon us! We're playing at Komedia this saturday 29th November, and it's going to be fantastic.

A quick reminder - the Tacet Ensemble have been working for the last 6 months or so with John Spiers and John Boden, a phenomenal duo who play English traditional music (and are the founder of the big band Bellowhead). We've commissioned four pieces to be written for us and them to play together - one each from Ed Hughes, Alison Kay, John Spiers and Jon Boden. The results are four very different approaches to writing for two groups with very different backgrounds and skill sets. And all four are brilliant.

The concert includes those four pieces, as well as solo sets from Tacet and from Spiers and Boden. Tacet will be playing pieces by Graham Fitkin, Kenneth Hesketh,Michael Finnissy, Tim Salter, George Nicholson and Julian Anderson. Spiers and Boden will be playing from their extensive repertoire of traditional material.

The concert is at Komedia, starts at 7.30 sharp and tickets are £12 (£10 concs). Box office is on: 0845 293 8480.
