DECEMBER
9th ...ON
STAGE
artists of the night:
ANDY GRANT - plays an
original, rootsy mixture of Blues, Rock and Jazz on
guitar, vocal and stompbox. When playing live he
incorporates growly vocals, infectious rhythms and
guitar skills. Andy's new CD 'Hole in the Sky' has had a
fantastic response from fans and press alike, receiving
radio play across the south coast from stations such as
BBC Southern Counties, BBC Radio Solent, Original 106
fm, Forest fm. - JAKE REID -
comes from a young journey of mixed emotions; lust,
heartache, vulnerability, jealousy, insecurity and a
jumble of God knows what else, and so far that's what
he's written about. - JENNY
LINDFORS - 'Lindfors's talent goes way beyond
second fiddle...her superb voice is well able to emulate
her folk heroines' IRISH TIMES ALBUM OF THE WEEK- 4
stars - MONICA ICONICA - has
an outstanding voice. With a thirst for every type of
music, she has often questioned her own musical identity
and found it difficult to just focus in on one genre -
so, she just writes and sings what she wants, and if it
confuses people then so be it. - ROSELIE - a soulful singer
songwriter from London - THE JAY
SCOTT PROJECT - through mutual
friends Jay met Simon, a classically trained Flamenco
guitarist. They started playing together and before long
Simon had recruited two of his other friends, Ben and
John, to form the Jay Scott Project. After almost a year
of playing some of London's premiere venues such as
Ronnie Scott's and The Spitz, The Jay Scott Project were
chosen to support Take That on their Beautiful World
tour in November and December 2007, playing The NEC in
Birmingham, O2 Arena in London, Glasgow's SECC and the
MEN Arena in Manchester. One of Jay's loves is poetry,
which can be heard in his lyrics as they rise above his
captivating hooks and melodies. His music lingers and
instantly you lose yourself in an imaginary world of
love, passion and fun. Never enough, you roar for more
before his deep voice draws you in again.
12th POGUE TRADERS
a Pogues tribute band - music
that respected the traditions of Irish music and gave it
new energy. Music that's passionate, powerful and
entertaining. The Pogue Traders' Live Our Live set now
includes over 30 songs and instrumentals, every one
taken from the albums of the original Pogues. It's a
blend of traditional songs discovered and reinterpreted,
all of which are guaranteed to create a fabulous,
high-energy
atmosphere.
