artists of the night:
JOHN GIBBONS - His first
two professional vocal assignments were as backing
vocalist for Luther Vandross and Diana Ross and he's
worked with many other great artists since including:
Tori Amos, Yusuf Islam, Joe Cocker, Chaka Khan and
Razorlight. He teamed up with guitarist Raoul Brand and
together they are writing songs for John's debut album
scheduled for release next year. The music is Folk Soul
- pure and simple acoustic tracks with beautiful
melodies and heart felt lyrics - performed by one of the
UK's most inspirational and unique voices. - JUAN ZELADA - has been involved in
the London music scene for two years now, mixing session
work for signed acts such as Bryn Christopher, Rhys
Morgan or Jenny Lynn Smith, with his own material
showcasing in some of Londonīs most respected venues. He
was part of a the UK tour supporting Amy Winehouse,
playing keys for Bryn Christopher, and has since then
concentrated more on his own thing showcasing his music
at London Unplugged, Unsigned Review etc. He has just
finished a new EP which is now released. "What do i
know?" is supposed to be stirring up a bit of a
fuss...... - NATALIE
GRIFFITHS - is an Australian born, London based
singer songwriter whose music has been compared to a
cross between Sarah McLachlan and the Dave Matthews
Band. Beautiful soulful vocals with gorgeous harmonies
supported by strong rhythms, piano, bass and guitars.
She will be performing a selection of tracks from her
forthcoming album accoumpanied by her husband on
acoustic guitar. - PHIL
DAVIES - is a singer/songwriter/instrumentalist
who has started out as a guitarist/bass player and has
progressed to writing and singing his own material
during the last few years. He has a diverse musical
background which is reflected in his songs ranging from
classical guitarist to punk rock bands to electro and
dance music production. - STEPHANIE
GRACE - is a London-born singer/songwriter whose
honest lyrics and "soulful, breath of fresh air" voice
are making waves on the London scene at the moment. She
began playing classical piano at 6, and singing in
choirs, including singing with the Mozart Players and
Royal Philharmonic. Her grandfather, John Counsell,
founded and ran the Theatre Royal Windsor for 40 years,
it is perhaps not surprising that Stephanie sang in
Musical Theatre, before moving into the
Jazz/Folk/Pop/Rock area, and training professionally
with Sonia Jones (Jodie Brooke-Wilson), Lloyd Wade
(Daniel Beddingfield) and Robert Bicknell (Natalie
Imbruglia). - YOLANDA CHARLES &
The Deep M.O - is a musician who has worked as a
bass player in the music industry since her 1st
'session' for Jimmy Sommerville back in 1989. She then
went on to work for Artists such as Marcella Detriot, KD
Lang, Paul Weller, Roddy Frame, Carleen Anderson, Robbie
Williams, Dave Stewart, Mick Jagger and BB King. She's
working as a songwriter most of the time these
days.
