STATUS QUO ANNOUNCE SUMMER SHOW One of Britain's best loved bands has announced a South-East date for next Summer. The legendary Status Quo will be appearing at Bedgebury National Pinetum & Forest, near Goudhurst, Kent as part of the Forestry Commission's summer concert season. Status Quo has become a rock'n'roll institution. A prolific touring and recording act, this autumn has seen the release of 'Pictures: 40 Years Of Hits' and 2008 sees the release of their first ever Christmas single 'It's Christmas Time'. They have accumulated total world-wide record sales exceeding 118 million units; 63 British hit singles - more than any other band, resulting in over seven and a half years on the singles charts; 106 appearances on BBC TV's 'Top of the Pops' - more than any other group. Public adoration has been complemented by music industry accolades including: the coveted 'Silver Clef Award', presented annually by the Nordoff Robbins Music Therapy Trust for 'Outstanding Services to British Music'; a Brit Award for 'Outstanding Contribution to the Music Industry'; an 'Outstanding Contribution to The Rock Industry' award at the World Music Awards. The Forestry Commission is committed to taking woodlands to new audiences and making them relevant to people in new ways. The forest tour is self-sustaining, paying for itself, and providing valuable revenue to plough back into the woodland in a variety of environmental and social projects. Commenting on the forest date, Status Quo's Francis Rossi says, "We played to three sold-out forest shows last summer and we are delighted Bedgebury Pinetum is part of our touring plans for 09. It will be a happy return to the venue where we last performed to a capacity crowd in 2003." Status Quo will be performing at: Bedgebury National Pinetum & Forest near Goudhurst, Kent, Saturday 6th June Tickets £32.00 (subject to booking fee) go on sale this Friday 19th December from Ticket Hotline: tel 01842 814612 or buy online at www.forestry.gov.uk/music or over the counter from the venue.
