THE DRUM - GUEST NIGHT 4 DEC 08 - RICHARD GRAINGER AND CLUB CHRISTMAS DINNER
Hi Folks,
Just the usual reminder of our guest night next Thursday.
As a result of forgetting to take the booking sheet along last night I
don't have many floor spots booked. So far I have Malcolm and Veronica,
Adrian O and me or Me and Dannie so if you would like a spot please let me
know.
With regard to the Christmas Dinner, I only have about seven people booked
for it so far. This is a little disappointing as we had eighteen sitting down
last year and I had hoped we could improve on that this year. The three
Christmas Dinners we have had since we moved back to the Drum have all been
thoroughly enjoyable evenings and at £15 a head I think it is pretty reasonable,
especially as they look after us so well all through the year and at the dinner
itself.
If you haven't already made other arrangements for 11 Dec please consider
coming along to give both the club and the pub your support. In the
present climate I feel we need to give the pub all the support we can, the old
adage of "use it or lose it" is completely apt and if we had to move
again I really don't know where we would find a venue like the one we have if we
could find one at all!
On that note, I meant to mention last night that the pub is now doing a
Monday night "Curry Night with a pint" for about £6 from 1700 hours instead of
the sausage and mash that they did previously. That is in addition to the
Friday night fish and chips promotion. Dannie and I went for that one
Friday and it was excellent and extremely good value for money.
I look forward to hearing from you and seeing you next week.
Regards
David
