Dear Beau,

I hope all is well with you. Here are the details of the next Canterbury Acoustic show. I hope that this will be of interest to you and all associated with Kent Folk:
All good wishes

Iain

On May 9th at the Gulbenkian Theatre, Canterbury Acoustic will be delighted to present:

DAN ARBORISE - described as "John Martyn meets Nick Drake for the 21st century", Dan Arborise juggles evocative songs and multi-layered acoustic instrumentals, whilst wandering from sea cliff to deep valley. His atmospheric debut album 'Around in Circles' was released to great acclaim. Live, Dan's tender and haunting voice is the perfect match for his emotive and rhythmic guitar-picking. Expect unusual open tunings, songs that develop into tunes, and tunes that grow into songs. Arborise pushes the new acoustic sound across new frontiers with a beautiful and unique guitar sound that must be heard to be believed.
ANA SILVERA - a pianist and singer songwriter hailing from London. Soloing with English National Opera by her teens, Ana set about defining a unique song-writing style of the lush, tender, poetic order - think Jacques Brel in English with fewer Gauloises, plus a pinch of Rufus Wainwright, Tom Waits and Nina Simone thrown in for good measure. She plays the guitar too, and is accompanied on the double bass and cello by cohort Jon Cottle.
On this occasion, SYD ARTHUR will be opening the show. This exciting new band are being touted as the true heirs of the famed "Canterbury Sound".
