Win Tickets to Ensemble ICC
Ensemble ICC, the new performing wing of the Irish Composers' Collective, performs in Dublin (Thursday, 4 September) and Galway (Friday, 5 September) this week. The group features Cora Venus Lunny, Kate Ellis, Daniel Bodwell, Roger Moffat and Karl Rooney and will have performed over thirty-five new works by early 2009. For more information visit

Arts Council to Continue Traditional Arts Scheme
After the completion of the Traditional Arts Initiative (2005–2008), the Arts Council has announced it will be continuing the Deis scheme. Since 2005, Deis has funded over 250 projects, spending almost €1.7 million. Speaking about the scheme, Olive Braiden, Chair of the Arts Council, said, 
'This was an initiative that responded to the unique status accorded these art forms in Irish culture, which - although shaped by each generation - express something of a perennial native genius; one that continues to make its presence felt in Irish life.' Visit www.artscouncil.ie
