We have something very special in store for all you budding musicians out there! New to the Showground this year will be Rockhopper. Built into a vintage 1960s silver airstream caravan, Rockhopper is a roomy state-of the art recording studio which offers you the chance to lay down and take home top quality, professional recordings of your music. The Rockhopper will be stationed be on the Showground throughout the Festival so will be accessible to everyone whether you are with us for the day or the whole weekend. Kathryn Tickell At The Proms


We are excited to announce that one of Towersey 2008’s headline artists will feature on BBC Radio 3 this Sunday (20 July). Kathryn Tickell's new composition, 'Confluence', will be premiered at the BBC Proms in a concert conducted by Martyn Brabbins and will be broadcast live on BBC Radio 3. Kathryn will also be the guest of presenter Verity Sharp for the first half of the programme before performing in her new work.
The BBC Radio 3 live broadcast starts at 3.30pm. Be sure to tune in. Catch Kathryn Tickell on the Concert Stage on Friday 22 August. Buy your ticket now


Art On Show

During the Festival, do make sure you take a bit of time out to check out two great art exhibitions being held in the village. The Phoenix Studio on Chinnor Road will be exhibiting Sculpture, Paintings, Ceramics, Photography and more. The Studio will also offer visitors the opportunity to observe artists demonstrating the techniques of their craft and tea, coffee and cakes will be served in the grounds (or in a covered area if the weather is bad!) Opening times: Friday 22 August - Monday 25 August 10am - 6pm.
Local artist Kate Duckham will also be exhibiting her work at "The Barn" at Rowan Cottage on Chinnor Road. The opposing subjects of myths and reality are explored in this photographic exhibition of locally collected plants and foliage. Opening times: Saturday 23 August 11am - 6pm; Sunday 24 August 11am - 6pm; Monday 25 August 11am - 4pm.

The Friends of Towersey Festival is a registered charity, set up to provide funding and support for people’s education in music, dance, song, theatre, arts and crafts. Each year, funding from the Friends provides valuable opportunities for people of all ages and abilities to develop their craft and to support education, growth and development across a wide range of arts.
Last year, The Towersey Festival Friends enabled talented young guitarist Wilber to enjoy a one-to-one tutorial session with the award-winning Martin Simpson.

At this year’s Festival Wilber will take to the stage at Festival Dane House, performing an opening set for The Commitments on Thursday 21 August. Buy your tickets now and be sure to catch this top young talent.
