The REVIEWS list
this week is headed by the amazing MARTHA WAINWRIGHT's new album "I Know You're
Married But I've Got Feelings Too". What a star she has become and she really
shined at a sell-out performance at the Festival Hall on Monday. If you get a
chance to see her any time soon, do so. She'll be touring USA with KT Tunstall
in support. She plays Glastonbury on June 28th and "Later with Jools Holland"
tonight - Friday 23rd May, 11.35pm BBC TWO. Mike Davies reviews her album at

TALKIN' BOUT
GUITARS ... which we do a lot ... P3 Music have just launched the BETA version
of www.italkguitar.com, an online
community featuring up to the minute news, blogs, social networking, chat, video
on demand, lessons, music and real advice on gear and playing from real
guitarists. It's a mix between Facebook and TripAdvisor and will act as an
online portal so guitarists can source up-to-the-minute guitar-related resources
and stories from the web. The new website will be sponsoring a number of
high profile guitar festivals and shows across Europe this summer.
The site has been set up primarily as a way of P3's
record company "The Guitar Label" sourcing new talent and contributors include
ex-journalists and editors from Guitar Techniques and comic book The Dandy. The
CEO of P3 Music is James Taylor, son of Martin Taylor MBE, whom Acoustic
Guitar magazine calls "the acoustic guitarist of his generation". To date the
company has worked with artists including Martin Taylor (of course!), Jeff Beck
and Bill Wyman - so I should think they know what they are talking
about!
From James: "We are really excited about the
potential www.italkguitar.com has
got. Responses from guitarists, manufacturers and festivals have been very
positive. We see the site as a place where guitarists can go to connect
with each other, exchange ideas and tips, source high quality lessons and
generally find out what is new, funny or remarkable in the guitar world.
The Guitar Label also hopes to use the site to find the next Hendrix, Satriani
or Clapton in the process."

We'll be bringing
you the latest TOURS very shortly - but in the meantime if you get a chance, do
get out to see major talent - the tour-de-force of an acoustic blues guitarist
and singer, young Matt Andersen from Canada. He's in Elgin at the moment and
will be working his way down the UK. On Wednesday at the Green Note, London NW1,
the stage was littered with dead yellow plectrums when his set ended! Check out
his music and dates at
