Subject: Cajun Dance with Yves Langlois : Littlebourne Barn + Truckstop Honeymoon: Sandwich - 25th May - Lousiana Day !

Sunday 25th May Bank Holiday is now Lousiana Day, in Kent !

Cajun Dance   with          Dindon Sauvage.

2 piece Fiddle led Cajun Band

Dance to the Steamy Rhythms of the Louisiana Swamps.

Here in Kent we have had some excellent Cajun music. Dindon Sauvage is led by fiddler/song-writer Yves Langlois, a Cajun songster/fiddler of international calibre, currently voted Cajun fiddler no. 2 in Europe, but also respected in the US of A, and currently paying a rare visit back to Kent from his new home with Karen and babe in France,
Chris Taylor, on guitar, accordion and harmonica, is a deeply skilled multi-talented player, who appears regularly at Leeds Castle.
Expect some very enjoyable and highly danceable music from them.

Don't know Cajun Dancing ? - don't worry - it is the greatest dance-form I know, and there is a dance workshop at 2.00pm with Kay Anderson and Satu Philips, excellent dance teachers - come along and give it a try, it is included in the ticket price. Do not worry if you do not have a partner, dancing with others is the way one keeps learning.

The venue is the most marvelous 1350s Thatched Barn in Littlebourne - longest in the country, and an experience on its own - a wonderful place for good music.

Doors open 1pm, if you want to come early to eat, bring your own food, drink, utensils ...
This is a thatched barn, so any smoking only outside barn yard gate.

2pm Sunday 25th May 2008

Doors Open 1 pm
Cajun Dance Workshop 2 - 2:30 pm
Cajun Dance 2.30 - 4.30 pm.

And just down the road in Sandwich will be a most excellent gig the same evening, with Truckstop Honeymoon (New Orleans, pre-Hurricane Katrina) and the remarkable local group The Dealers, and also Delta Tom - see  www.UrbanFolkOrganization.com  - their doors open 6:30, so why not eat locally (see www.kentfolk.com/tickets/accommodation_food_drink.html - two pubs in local vilages are having beer festivals) and make a Louisiana day of it ...
